Naseeb

This Indian movie was all over the place. I got it because of Amitabh Bachchan who was one of the biggest names in Indian cinema in the 70's and 80's and has starred in other great movies later on like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He's a really talented actor. It starts out as a crime story about a lottery ticket and then it becomes about the hotel that the winners bought with their winnings. Eventually it comes back to the original story but there were a lot of detours in the movie. It needed more focus.

Sir

This Indian movie had potential. That's why I got annoyed with it. The main character has a stuttering problem but finds a good guy who overlooks it. She also has singing ambitions. But no, the movie decided to focus on a boring crime subplot. It lost its heart and became like every other crime movie you've seen.

What's your Raashee?

The main complaint about this movie was its four-hour length. I split the movie in two days, so I didn't feel rushed. Maybe that's the way to go. This was just watchable. Priyanka Chopra proves that she is more than a pretty face by playing twelve characters representing zodiac signs. The bachelor must choose one of these girls for his bride. All of the women are supposed to look like the same girl, and this is where the movie fails. It felt gimmicky. It would have been more refreshing to have different actresses for each one and that's with Chopra doing a good job.

Yuvvraaj

Salman Khan is a fun actor but even he can't save this mediocre boring movie. It's about three siblings coming together after their father dies. But even they find out that a family bond is more important than wealth. As boring as this was I have to admit I was on the edge of my seat during the finale concerning the concert. You can pass.

Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai

This was just ok. It's about a woman whose lover dies and then she meets another man who looks like him. He gets revenge on the people who had had murdered her previous lover. I didn't care for the actors. Hrtithik Roshan has never been a favorite of mine. I've seen better Bollywood but this was watchable.

Time Limit

This was a pretty good old movie. I was shocked by the use of two f words. It's about whether a POW (played by Basehart) should be accused of treason for information he gave in Korea. But he has his reasons. June Lockhart, whose movies I've been watching lately does a good job as the wife of Basehart. This was better than I expected it to be.

The Outrage

This western version of Rashomon was just ok. Claire Bloom plays the woman that Paul Newman is accused of raping and Laurence Harvey, the husband he murders. Three different versions are shown, one showing Claire Bloom as a harlot, another a saint. Paul Newman plays a Mexican. I thought he did a poor job which I never thought I would say of Paul Newman. However, one person on the internet had a valid point that he was doing a stereotyped version. If that's the case then he did an ok job. I don't know. I wanted more.
