John Garfield plays a criminal who goes to jail. Burgess Meredith is one of his prison mates. It's a memorable scene when he tries to escape. Ann Sheridan plays John's innocent girlfriend. This movie has the cliché when a person in authority says, "You can leave but come back in a day." I don't know how many times I've seen this. Overall it was an ok prison flick. I'm a fan of John Garfield, Burgess Meredith, and Ann Sheridan so it was neat watching a great cast.
