I felt this movie was all right. A poor family is looking forward to feeding a soldier for dinner. When John Hodiak comes Anne Baxter starts to have romantic feelings for him. (The two actors got married later on.) This was made during World War II and probably was good entertainment for people going through that harsh time period. Charles Winninger steals the movie as the grandfather. He's the reason to watch this.
