Machiko Kyo was one of my favorite actresses in my early 20's so I'm revisiting her movies. For some reason, though her movie
Princess Yang Kwei-fei is still not on DVD which surprises me as it was directed by Mizoguchi.
Gate of Hell is about a samurai who is granted anything he wishes and he desires a married woman Machiko. This, of course, is not a good idea and creates chaos for all the characters ending into doom. The colors of this movie were vibrant. It was a lovely looking movie. It's really a classic.
