Helen Hayes plays a smart woman who is in love with aspiring politician Brian Aherne. He's not all that bright and she is really the brains behind his success. He has an affair with Madge Evans. Moviegoers weren't pleased with Madge playing the other woman as she usually had the girl next door roles. But she's good in this and it shows her range. However, the real star is Helen Hayes. This was based on a J.M. Barrie play.
