The Crash

I like Ruth Chatterton but the character she plays in this is unlikable. She's an adultress and tells her husband she's running off with her lover. Her husband isn't perfect either since he resorts to blackmail later in the movie. The characters are flawed but the acting was good. I paid for a rental of this. It wasn't free on youtube so I can't say it was worth the money.

Stop Press Girl

I like Sally Ann Howes and this early movie from her career was cute. A girl learns she has the ability to stop machines but luckily something gets the way before she can be exploited. This British movie has some loop holes but it's short so it's not a waste of one's time really.

Miss Tulip stays the night

This was a 1950s British comedy about an old woman who stays with a couple for a night and is discovered dead the next morning. The couple seek to solve the mystery. It was ok, nothing life changing. The real reason to watch this is Diana Dors, England's Marilyn Monroe at the time. She's charming and gorgeous. (She could sing too. She made a good album.) It's 68 minutes so if you're a Diana Dors fan it's worth watching.

The Servant

This is regarded as Joseph Losey's best film, a homoerotic movie about a servant taking over his master. The performances were very good especially from Dick Bogarde but I just liked The Prowler and The Sleeping Tiger more. The only thing that I would really change about this movie is that they only had one Cleo Laine song which kind of got annoying. They should have had more from her.
