Bait

I just watched another Cleo Moore movie.  This one wasn't as good.  An old man gets married to Cleo Moore, who wears flannel most of this movie.  I don't know why seeing she was a sex symbol at the time.  Anyway, he decides to take her and another man with him on a mining expedition.  Only the other man (John Agar) has the hots for Cleo.  Frankly, there's a small subplot in the movie about the devil that I found creepy and more worthy of my time.  I think that should have been expanded.

Over-Exposed

Cleo Moore was a fun curvaceous blonde actress from the 50's.  For some reason her film career was brief.  So far the best movie I've seen her in is Women's Prison.  In here she plays an aspiring enthusiastic photographer.  There's also a blackmail plot.  I really didn't like the guy in this movie.  He was jealous.  The ending was a stereotypical 50's ending.  I didn't like the ending at all. However,  I still recommend this movie anyway.

Roadblock

This was a decent noir, not everyone could be like Double Indemnity.  I didn't think the actors in this movie really stood out which would have made it better than the average noir.  Joan Dixon plays a golddigger.  Charles McGraw wants to get her the finer things in life so he turns to crime.  It's short at 73 minutes so it's worth a watch.

The Bad Seed

I just read William March's The Bad Seed.  I read it over ten years ago and it's still a good thriller.  Without this movie, I doubt that movies like The Omen would have been made.  It started a little genre.  Rhoda Penmark's mother realizes that her child is evil and has committed a few murders.  The whole movie she's conflicted with she has to do and learns about her mother's sordid past.  Of course, the ending's bad.  Alfred Hitchcock Presents wouldn't let the villain get away with anything either.  The performances are awesome though.  Eileen Heckart, Nancy Kelly, and Patty McCormack were all nominated for Oscars and for good reason.  Patty should have had a bigger career.  I bought a book of William March short stories.  I'm eager to read it.

Bombardier

I got this movie because I've become a fan of Anne Shirley lately, especially from watching her in Anne of Green Gables.  She plays a blonde here.  As for the movie, it's pretty mediocre.  It's a standard World War II movie.  I like Randolph Scott as well but I found myself looking at the clock throughout.  Except for some exceptions like The Dirty Dozen I'm not that much of a war movie buff.  Maybe it's just me.
