Blithe Spirit
This was a pretty amusing 1940s British movie. Rex Harrison plays a man who has a seance in his house. His first wife comes back from the dead and creates conflict in the household with his new wife. This movie was unpredictable and the woman who played the medium does a good job. I need to get into Noel Coward. There's obviously a lot of talent.

Darker than Night
I love Mexican horror movies but few people bother to translate them. Carlos Enrique Taboada is a director I really love. He made one of my favorite movies Poison for the Fairies. In this movie a cat gets revenge on the women who killed it. The only problem with this movie is that none of the women were particularly interesting so when they died there was no big emotional loss. Still I like Taboada and it was an ok movie just not his best.

Rendezvous - (1935)
This is a spy movie starring William Powell. The problem with the movie is the love interest in the movie played by Rosalind Russell is annoying. I usually don't watch movies that are rated just a two by Leonard Maltin. It was a chance I shouldn't have taken. It's not horrible but not good either.
The Asphyx
This was an ok 1970s British horror movie that reminded me of a Hammer movie although it wasn't made by them. It's about an old man who tries to figure out how to capture "the asphyx", a spirit that happens when a person is about to die. The man is able to become immortal but not without a couple of murders happening in the meantime. The old man soon realizes that immorality isn't all it's cracked up to be. I saw it on Kanopy. It's not a masterpiece but it's worth a watch.
The Doll
This was a pretty cool Swedish horror movie from the 1960s. Per Oscarsson gives a masterful performance as a night watchman who steals a doll. He forms a relationship with the doll. In no time the tenants of the house he lives in figure out something is wrong and eventually come to know his secret. It ends with a pretty creepy ending. Frankly, I'm surprised this neat psychological horror film doesn't have a following.
