I just read William March's The Bad Seed. I read it over ten years ago and it's still a good thriller. Without this movie, I doubt that movies like The Omen would have been made. It started a little genre. Rhoda Penmark's mother realizes that her child is evil and has committed a few murders. The whole movie she's conflicted with she has to do and learns about her mother's sordid past. Of course, the ending's bad. Alfred Hitchcock Presents wouldn't let the villain get away with anything either. The performances are awesome though. Eileen Heckart, Nancy Kelly, and Patty McCormack were all nominated for Oscars and for good reason. Patty should have had a bigger career. I bought a book of William March short stories. I'm eager to read it.
