I felt like watching another Sidney Poitier movie after I watched To sir with Love. I watched this ten years ago and gave it a 2 on Netflix. I've changed my mind. It's a better movie now. Sidney Poitier plays a homicide detective who gets thrown in jail. However, things quickly change when it turns out he can help solve a case. Rod Steiger, who won the Oscar for his role, in this movie can't stand Sidney but the two of them put aside their differences to solve the crime. I don't know if this should have won the Oscar in 1967 though. Bonnie and Clyde and The Graduate, also nominated for best picture, were very memorable movies. It was just a really good year for movies.
