To Sir with Love

To Sir, With Love

This is one of the better teacher movies that have been made.  Sidney Poitier plays a teacher who is teaching some rough kids among the working class in London.  He has to deal with discipline and one of his students also has a crush on him.  Poitier does a good job.  At the end of the movie, he has to decide between an engineering job coming up or if he will continue teaching.  This movie introduced me to Lulu, the redhead in this movie who sings the title song. (I think it's her best song.)  I love music from British female singers of the 60's so I would have probably got around to discovering her.  When I watched this for the first time when I was 17 though I wasn't into that genre yet.   She was one of the first I bought.
